Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development of a strong safety culture in the shop
  • Ensure all HSEQ rules and working instructions are followed
  • Ensure that all shop staff are trained, incidents and accidents at the shops are immediately reported through the available means and actions taken.
  • Shop management, Development and Operation
  • Sets objectives, coordinates, and supervises the field merchandisers and oversees shop staff performance
  • Negotiate supply contracts with third parties for centralized supply, rebates, competitive pricing, marketing support and ensures contract terms are respected.
  • Achievement of the global BU sales shop turnovers, margins, and fees (fixed & variable)
  • Uses the shop tool to survey and study potential sites on the network with the aim of proposing and creating viable shops. as per BU objective
  • create new shop concepts within existing network to achieve a penetration rate of 95%.
  • Follow up on creation & implementation of shop concepts in newly created/acquired stations within 1 month from commencement of operations.
  • Review and implement the merchandising and operational tools
  • Defines bonjour layouts, product range and updates plannograms as products evolve
  • In conjunction with SFS manager, validates the shops project (concept, layout) and validate the commissioning of each project after works.
  • Revise existing shop concepts among maxi, medi, mini levels based on market trends, investments, or other variables annually
  • Responsible for on-going shop concept roll out on the network
  • Participates in the identification, selection, and performance management of shop dealers and shop staff.
  • Enforce the agreed operating terms as per the Bonjour marketing License agreement and supply terms between the dealers and the company.
  • Manage relationship with shop suppliers and organizes regular business review meetings and analysis category performance and implements the required remedial measures
  • Carry out shop spot check to ensure adherence to the expected standards.
  • Conduct Shop training on every visit (Top service, merchandising, shop management & operations).
  • Keep records of all the trainings done

Candidate profile

Candidate Profile.

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum), Business Administration, Commerce, Statistics
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Sales and Business Development
  • Specific experience in high value retail outlets such as hyper markets will be an added advantage
  • Good knowledge of the Network or experience in Supermarkets/Retail outlets or FMCG
  • Working knowledge of computer applications like; Excel Spreadsheets, MS Word, Power point
  • Basic Knowledge of Accounting.
  • Autonomy, Organization (Ability to prioritize work), training skills.
  • Analytical skills and ability to see the overall picture. Concern for economic performance.
  • Very innovative, creative mind & eye for detail
  • Good interpersonal and negotiation skills
